Episode 1 Summary

It's the beginning of a new year at the Salinger School for the Performing Arts. Among the freshers are, Lila, a writer, Owen, a musician, Kate, an actor and Joe, a lighting and sound technician. Classes begin and all four attempt to fit in, unsuccessfully. Lila receives constant phone-calls from her ill mother, whilst finding it impossible to open up about her past in her writing class; Joe is excluded by the others for being a geek; Kate fails to hide her famous family name and becomes the college gossip as well as a shallow-friendship target; while Owen promises Matt the music teacher he'll be on his best behavior, but then faced with working alongside his nemesis, Cal, storms out on their class task.
